FC Bayern and Olympiacos Piraeus have crossed swords in three competitive fixtures, all of which ended in Bayern wins. FCB won both matches in the 1980/81 season (4-2 away and 3-0 at home) and the first meeting in the current campaign, a 3-0 victory in Piraeus.
Unbeaten against Greek teams
FC Bayern have encountered Greek teams eight times in European competition and have yet to be beaten. The Bavarians left the pitch as winners six times, with two games ending in a draw. FCB have scored 23 goals and conceded only three.
Olympiacos' negative record
Olympiacos' yield has not been good in meetings with teams from Germany. The serial Greek championship winners have prevailed in only five out of 14 games, losing nine times, with 22 goals scored and 29 conceded.
FCB with superb streak at home
FC Bayern can look back on a formidable run ahead of the meeting with Olympiacos. The German record champions have won 17 of the last 18 Champions League group stage matches at the Allianz Arena, losing only against Manchester City, a 3-2 reverse in December 2013. If the knockout stages are included Bayern have won their last eight home games in Europe's premier competition and could equal a club record with another victory on Tuesday: they won nine times in a row between September 2011 and December 2012.
Swede to Referee
Jonas Eriksson will be the man with the whistle for Bayern's last home match in the Champions League group stage. FCB have fond memories of Eriksson as he was in charge when the German record champions downed AS Roma 7-1, the Bavarians' biggest away win in their European history. In the 2013/14 season the 41-year-old Swede oversaw the 3-1 success against Manchester United in the quarter-finals as well as the victory over Chelsea in the European Super Cup.
