GRAFFITI & BIKE TAXIS - BERLIN IN RED & WHITE

The 400 square metre exposed wall of a housing block at Holzmarktstraße 10 in Berlin, not far from Alexanderplatz, would normally be painted white. No tourist would bother making a diversion just to see it, but this weekend it is attracting crowds of people, taking snapshots and marvelling at the scope of it. That’s because Philipp Lahm, Thomas Müller and Jérôme Boateng are looking down from the wall. The extraordinary graffiti has been created by Berlin lads Jörni, Bolle, Kimo, SizeTwo and Icke in honour of FC Bayern.

“We were standing here in the wind and rain at the start of the week, but fortunately it’s better now. We really enjoyed getting stuck into such a big project,” reported Jörni on behalf of the street artists known as Die Dixons,. Executing the piece with spray cans, paint and brushes took some 60 hours, while planning it naturally took far longer.

STAR GUEST AT FCB FAN SHOP

The result is certainly worth a souvenir photo, as are the 20 Bike Taxis in the same design as the FC Bayern team bus, and at the disposal of FCB fans on Saturday and Sunday. They’ll bring the supporters to the meeting point on Alexanderplatz, from where the Munich loyalists will begin making their way to the stadium as of 3 pm.

Before then, it’s worth visiting the Bayern Fan Shop in the LP12 Mall of Berlin at Leipziger Platz 12: there’s a Get Together, and 10 percent off all fan merchandise! Last but not least, fans could win one of five pairs of tickets for the final – with the lucky winners drawn by star guest Arjen Robben in person. Berlin is always worth a visit, especially when the city has gone red and white!
